I've just started Resident Evil Code Veronica, and was wondering if anyone could help me with some basics?

Firstly is it necessary to kill all the zombies? Because that wastes bullets but if you dont kill them they're really annoying!

Secondly is there anyway you can physically hurt them like some sort of punching, kicking, wrestling etc? And when they grab hold of you how do you get them off?

Also, them damn dogs, how do i kill them??

As for your first question, no, it's not necessary to kill all the zombies. Actually, it's not really necessary to kill most zombies in the game. The zombies are pretty slow, so most times you can simply run past them if you have room to manuever. It's best to kill zombies in areas you have to visit repeatedly, and in areas where you think they would cause a problem (i.e., around puzzles). Just use your best judgment and you'll be able to conserve a lot of ammo.

Secondly, no, there's no way to fight them with your bare hands. All enemies must be shot (or cut with the knife). From what I remember, all you have to do if one of them does grab you is just quickly rock the thumbstick or directional pad back and forth to shake them off.

Lastly, to kill the dogs, just shoot them. Any firearm works just fine on them.
