Road Trip! Make the Most of Your Family’s Summer Vacation

<img src="http://www.buzzle.com/img/articleImages/181017-18.jpg" width="100" height="67" alt="Road Trip! Make the Most of Your Family's Summer Vacation" class="ImgBorder"

Aaah, the summer season is upon us. It's time to shift our collective minds to thoughts of grilled hot dogs, warm breezes, the ice cream man and, of course, the beloved family road trip. Surely any time spent vacationing with family will be memorable, but how can you make the most out of this year's summer trip? By doing a little bit of advance planning.

So where do you begin?

"First and foremost, get everyone in the family involved in planning the trip," said family travel expert Pamela Wright, who has written more than 25 travel guidebooks with co-author Diane Bair. "Discuss what activities might be fun to do. Go to your local library or bookstore for materials on the region or sites you will be visiting. And show them on a map where you’ll be traveling."

Here are a few more simple planning tips for making this summer's driving vacation a success:

Back to the basics

Grab a bag or bin and load it with all of your travel essentials, such as maps, tickets, hotel confirmation information, medical insurance information, a flashlight with extra batteries, sunscreen, first aid supplies, etc. Clearly label this container and make sure it's at your fingertips throughout the vacation.

Hitting the road

Grab another bag or bin and fill it with "car-friendly" activities like drawing supplies, books and magazines, puzzles, hand-held video games, playing cards and snacks (a must!) Another project to consider is a family vacation scrapbook. Both the kids and the adults can write favorite memories and glue or tape memorabilia into the book so everyone can relive the vacation for years to come.

Taking a pit stop

Without a doubt (especially on those longer trips), you'll need to make some pit stops along the way. Why not have a good time during these breaks, too? Pack a supply of quick outdoor activities, such as chalk, bubbles, disposable cameras, a jump rope and binoculars. Or, if you’ve got some time, build your pit stops around a visit to an interesting town or site. This way, getting to your vacation destination can be half the fun.

Don't forget the discounts

A suggestion from many veteran vacationers: buy an out-of-town edition of the Entertainment book for the destination to which you're traveling (or any towns you may be stopping at along the way). Available in more than 160 cities throughout North America, the Entertainment book can help families shave hundreds of dollars from vacation costs. Each edition of the popular coupon book and savings membership contains 2-for-1 and 50 percent off coupons and discount offers from local and national restaurants, hotels, attractions and many other merchants. And, through the end of June, you can snap up any 2003 edition for $10 plus shipping on Entertainment’s Web site, www.entertainment.com.

"Millions of people use the Entertainment book in their hometowns, but don't realize how much they can save by buying other editions to take on vacation," said Alan Bittker, president and chief executive officer of Entertainment. "It's a great way for families to try new restaurants, enjoy family activities, and visit worthwhile attractions at a significant discount."

Cinema on wheels

While low-tech activities can keep the kids entertained for hours, investing in a TV/VCR or TV/DVD player combo can make for a very wise investment, especially on long trips. Throw some popcorn and a handful of favorite videos in and you've got a cinema on wheels. In addition, if you plan to record family videos during the trip, the kids can re-live the vacation on the ride home.

And the last tip, which may be the most important one: be flexible.

"Often the most enjoyable moments are the unexpected ones," said Wright. "By all means, plan your vacation, but stay flexible. You might not get to half of the places on your itinerary, and that’s perfectly OK."

Video Game Problems With The Game Elder Scrolls Iv:oblivion?

I'm not really sure what's going on with my computer, but I bought Oblivion for my computer and it works but on the lowest quality so I was going to upgrade it. I was going to upgrade my computer because when I play, I only get to the part right after the king dies in the very beginning. When I open the door to the sewers and then click to open the vault to get there, I hear the sound of it opening but then my screen goes black and it shuts down and goes back to my desktop saying that oblivion encountered a problem and needs to close. I bought it off this site called Direct2Drive so i can just order it online than download it straight to my computer. So is the problem me downloading it so i should buy it at the store or is it because my computer is out of date and i should upgrade it?

You more than likely just need to upgrade your computer. Sounds like your Video card might be alittle either outdated/now powerful enough. Oblivion is a beast and requires some of the top systems out there to play smooth. Also if you could list your specs for your computer that would be awesome.

Good for the price. I'm looking to get it myself to play Oblivion better hopefully in the near future.

Release of NBA schedule nets season predictions

Tuesday afternoon the NBA released its 2006-2007 regular season schedule, and with it a barrage of predictions on who the team to beat will be this season. While many organizations beefed up during the off-season, 2006 may still be dominated by a handful of repeat performances.

Though it may seem foolishly premature, it’s never to early to start looking ahead and making some bold predictions for this upcoming season.

Eastern Conference – Atlantic Division

Last year the New Jersey Nets put it all together at just the right time to streak towards a division title in the final months. This season the Nets will return studs Jason Kidd, Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson, adding UConn rookies Marcus Williams and Josh Boone.

While Boone likely won’t have that big of an effect this season, the addition of Williams gives the Nets a truly potent point guard for 48 minutes a game. The only test for the Nets in this division will be the Philadelphia 76ers, but their playing with the prospect of losing Allen Iverson to a trade at any given moment can’t make for solid team chemistry.
Prediction: Nets

Central Division

The Central could quickly turn into the most exciting and competitive division in all of the NBA. While the Pistons were an early favorite to continue their dominance, the Bulls signed top defensive player Ben Wallace out from under their noses. Combined with the Tyson Chandler trade and the drafting of Tyrus Thomas, the Bulls could be poised to finally return to Jordan-era success.

However, don’t sleep on LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers – with the signing of Drew Gooden and veteran Alan Henderson they could be a force as well. In a division that saw every one of it’s members make the playoffs last season, this one is a toss up.
Prediction: Bulls

Southeast Division

Expect the reigning NBA Champion Miami Heat not to sit back and relax following their title run. Believe it or not last season may have only been the tip of the talent iceberg that is the Dwayne Wade and Shaquille O’Neal tandem. The two will only get better as Wade begins to adjust into his role as the last second go-to-guy and Shaq realizes he doesn’t have to score every basket. Don’t expect much resistance from the rest of this division.
Prediction: Heat

Western Conference – Northwest Division

While on paper the Nuggets should be able to repeat as division champions this year, it could be a pair of rookies that raise the most eyebrows. Seattle’s drafting of Washington Husky senior Brandon Roy was possibly the smartest pick in this summer’s NBA draft. Roy is an experienced and well-rounded point guard who is playing in his own backyard. If he can step up his game to the NBA level quickly, the Sonics may turn a few heads early on. For the Timberwolves, Villanova guard Randy Foye gives the squad a much-needed outside weapon that may be the final piece to the Minnesota puzzle.
Prediction: Supersonics

Pacific Division

Steven Nash and the Suns have got to be the early favorite to repeat as division champions. A healthy Amare Stoudemire only adds power to a team that won the division last year by seven games. However, the main reason that the Suns will repeat as division champions is that nobody else in the division is ready to take the next step and rise to the top. The Clippers had a breakthrough season last year, but didn’t do enough during the off-season to catch Phoenix.
Prediction: Suns

Southwest Division

Get ready Dallas fans, this is the year that you finally become the top team in the Lone Star State. The Mav’s were so close to an NBA title last year they could taste it, and without the misfortune of some questionable officiating, could have hoisted the trophy. With Jason Terry resigned and all the big names returning and the drafting of Michigan State standout Maurice Ager, Dallas should be poised to leave the Spurs and company in their dust. Memphis is solid, but very young, and the Hornets are only as good as Chris Paul can make them.
Prediction: Mavericks

Advantages of Computers

<img src="http://www.buzzle.com/img/articleImages/243279-58630-2.jpg" width="350" height="233" alt="Advantages of Computers" class="ImgBorder"

The present global age is the consequence of the computer age. A computer is an electronic device that stores and processes data, according to a list of instructions. It allows a user to manipulate data easily. The speed of performance of a computer is incomparable. The computer and Internet have affected our way of working, communicating, playing and also writing. In fact, computers are used in every aspect of life today.

Advantages of Computers

Because of the many advantages of a computer, it has become an important household item. A computer operated by an individual without any specific computer operator is called as a personal computer (PC). A PC can be a desktop or a laptop computer and can be used at home or at office. As per the requirement of the user, softwares are installed in a PC. Let’s discuss the advantages of computers.

One can write more effectively by means of a computer. There are tools like spelling and grammar checker, thesaurus and dictionary, installed in the computer. Thus, it takes less time to proofread a written document and also, there is no need to open up a dictionary book to look for meanings of words. Typing is much faster than writing on a paper. If there is a need for reorganizing the sentences or paragraphs, one can cut and paste and make the necessary changes. Thus, overall a computer allows the user to create documents, edit, print, and store them so that they can be retrieved later.

Using a computer, one can remain connected to the world through Internet. Internet is a network of computers that communicates via the Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP). The World Wide Web (WWW) or simply web is a huge resource of information that can be accessed via the Internet. To mention a few of the resources, there are electronic mail (e-mail), file transferring and sharing, online chat and gaming. The Internet allows people from around the world to share knowledge, ideas and experiences in any field.

E-mail is a method of communication used globally and is provided with a system of creating, storing and forwarding mails. It may consist of text messages with attachments of audio-visual clips. One can also download or upload files using the Internet. There are also facilities like online chatting available on the Internet. As compared to telephonic conversation, both e-mail and online chat are cost saving. Online gaming is another important resource of the WWW. Many online games are available, which are of common interest for any age group. In addition, one can read current news, check weather conditions, plan vacations and make hotel and travel reservations, find out about diseases and treatment methods, conduct transactions, learn about specific countries and their cultures, seek jobs, buy products, etc via the Internet.

Nowadays, computers are widely used for education and training purposes. In schools, computer education has been made compulsory to spread awareness about computers. As a matter of fact, computers have become a learning tool for children. Also, there are many universities that provide online degrees, which is very advantageous for those people staying in the remote areas and for the disabled. In fact, online education is one of the most flexible and convenient forms of learning. One can take the benefit of such online degree programs staying at home without the need of relocation. Computers are also used for training purposes. Many companies use them to train their staffs.

However, in spite of the many advantages of computers, there are some disadvantages that cannot be ignored. The easy access to information via Internet has made students lazy in terms of their education since they are able to download information without exploring their topic of research. They also use computers for mathematical tables and calculations without actually solving the problems. Also, it is important for parents to keep a check on the browsing habits of their children as some websites are not meant for their viewing. Other disadvantages include identity theft and virus threat. Computers viruses are harmful to the systems and can be transferred from one computer system to another.

The Call of Duty games are also good choices, World at War being the best at the moment.
Other popular games include Fallout 3 and Gears of War 2.
Keep in mind that Halo Wars is coming out soon, which is sure to be popular.

Writing Articles On Ezinearticles And Buzzle For Web Traffic And Seo

EzineArticles is simply the best site for submitting and reading articles. I have successfully published many articles on this site, and I have undoubtedly reaped, and am still reaping, the benefits.

It is undeniably a very good website for Google backlinks, but one time article submission will not help get you the visitors you crave. However, if you consistently create 2 to 3 fresh and good quality, well written, articles every week and submit them to EzineArticles you will find over a few months that you traffic and web ranking steadily improves. With a PR6 (Google page rank of 6), their site is very powerful! A link back from their site really helps your search engine optimization (SEO).

Having said that though, articles on Buzzle are said by some marketers who use that site, to be competing with the search engine ranking of some categories in EzineArticles, so remember to check out Buzzle, and keep Buzzle's site high on your list as well.

Buzzle authors also receive added exposure when they are randomly featured throughout the directory.

Articles for Buzzle and anywhere else for that matter, are best written in small paragraphs (3 to 4 lines in one paragraph) , some say these get given higher CTR than articles written in big paragraphs (6 to 8 lines per paragraph). It is likely that this increases the readability and scanning power of the article, and brings more traffic that way.

Google doesn't have an unlimited amount of resources so with this perspective in mind then it's best to post different articles to your site from the articles that will be submitted to article directories.

There is nothing wrong with submitting articles to article directories as this is a very well tried and tested method for increasing. Google more than likely has the best numbers to look at (for obvious reasons), so I use them first. I like terms that have low competition with not much more than 2,000 in daily hits… so keywords like “forex betting system,” “bet on forex” and “forex software” might be good options.

Link mostly to your primary article if it and your site pages are related and you want the best bang to lift all your pages.

When you write articles, try never to confuse or frustrate your readers! Confused readers will not use your articles on their sites. Links from blogs can be some of the most powerful. Not only are links noticed by search engines, but they can also act as a publicity maker to other bloggers to may then also use the same article.

Search Engine Optimization is a technique used to attain top results in the search engines anytime anyone is searching for your business or merchandise. Plenty of people spend tons of time on search engine optimization. There are many people who will search for your keywords, so to have your web site turn up at the top of the list is a good way of getting tons more traffic.

Some people have said that article marketing is dead. Personally, I can?t say anything good enough about it! I have found my articles being used on so many other sites, and I also have had people contact me wanting to use my work in off-line real world magazines they are creating.

YouTube videos may be listed much faster than other forms of content like article marketing. For example during a recent pre-launch campaign we created 5 videos based around our particular keywords. Within three days we had first page listings for our keywords. But, they did not stay very long on the first page. However, a good article once listed seems to us to stay there far longer.

How to Write Articles Quickly and Easily

Writing articles is a great way to bring traffic to your website and generate sales. But you’ve got to do it on a consistent basis. Writing one article a week is not enough to benefit your website or your bottom line. To be successful writing articles, you’ve got to submit at least one each day. If you want to be really successful, you should submit three to five a day. But how is it possible to write one or more articles each day. First of all, I start out with a basic format that I use for all of my articles. Using a simple format for every article I write keeps me focused on the process.

In the first paragraph I state the reason that I’m writing the article. I have several different openings that I use on a consistent basis. In most cases, I state that many people have asked questions on the subject, or I suggest that I have a solution that works better than others. By using the same basic opening for all of my articles, I am never at a loss on how to start an article. In the next few paragraphs, I provide the meat of my article. I try to list five to ten separate points that I want to cover. I try to add two or three sentences regarding point. I try to add some sort of supporting fact to back up my statement, or I explain the point more thoroughly.

With each point I want to make, I start a new paragraph. Having a number of paragraphs in your article makes it more pleasing to the eye. An article that is pleasant looking will result in more people clicking links in my resource box. This, after all, is the reason I write articles. I close the article by synopsizing the article. I also tell the reader how they will benefit by using the information contained above. By the time I reach this point, my article is usually between 350 and 500 words (I like to keep my articles at about that length).

If writing articles has not been successful for you, use the techniques described here to build traffic and generate income. Do you want to learn more about how I make money? I have just completed my brand new guide on how to develop your own ebook and start your own affiliate program.
